Eight great reasons to tell the truth

"1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict. 2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished. 3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened. 4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying. 5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth. 6. You don't have to tell more lies to keep your story straight. 7. You gain a reputation for being truthful - a trait most people value. 8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful." - Barbara A. Lewis once said. When you speak the truth you are true to yourself. Speaking the truth is a huge part of being a CTR person because when you say the truth your putting on a good reputation. Speaking the truth just doesn't make you feel good but it helps you continue to do the right thing for sue since you will be getting used to doing the right thi...

Karl G. Measer

" I have been asked what I mean by 'word of honor.' I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stones ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand by me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can i get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first."- Karl G. Measer once said. To me this quote means a great deal when it come to keeping your word. When you keep your word you should do what you said and be honest with yourself as well with it. For example lets say that you give your word to take care of someones kid for them. You tell them that they have your word on it and so they are comfortable with you taking care of the kid. The day comes when they go out and you say that you can't for some reason. That isn't having an honest word and that's CTW. Now lets say that you said y...

Henry David Thoreau

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."-Henry David Thoreau once said. I believe that Henry is trying to say that when you do the right thing you will succeed. When you CTW however you are only doing bad for your owns self and won't get anywhere. For example lets say that you chose to go out with some friends to a party. When you guys arrive there you find out that they are serving alcohol to the guest. You and your friends foolishly decide to drink and you do during the rest of the party. When you leave to go home you go in the car to go drive and you get pulled over by the cops. They find out that your drunk and you receive a DUI. Your car gets impounded and you spend the night in jail. Now lets say the same scenario only that you chose to not drink. You will be good for the night and you won't get any consequence. So CTR and invest in your goodness.

Theodore Hesburgh

" My basic principle is that you don't make  decisions  because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular ;  you make them  because  they're right .”- Theodore Hesburgh once said. To me this statement means that you shouldn't take the easy way out of things.  I believe that he wants us to work for our goal the right way instead of trying to achieve the wrong way. For example lets say that your in a football team. You would want to win your game but you don't want to practice. So instead of practicing you chose to use drugs to enhance your preformance. When you go out to play and win you might have won but you did it dishonestly. Now lets say that you did the opposite and trained and practiced. You will most likely win and you did it the CTR way. You will also feel good about yourself. This is my reflection and remember to CTR.

Tyler Haws

" I trust that my hard work will pay off."-Tyler Haws once said. This statement holds a great meaning in which is true in many ways. To me this statement means that you can only achieve what you want by your own effort. For example lets say that you want to join the football team but you don't yet fit the requirements. Your coach gives you a maximum of 2 months to fit the requirements if you want to be in the team. Within that time you go out and train daily so you can get in the team and eventually you did get the requirements down so you chose to train even more to assure your spot in the team. once the 2 months pasted the coach sees that your in shape and good to be on the team. Now lets say that you do the opposite. you have the 2 months but instead of training you decide to just go out and slack off with your friends. The deadline for you comes and the coach doesn't let you on the team because you aren't fit for it. As you can see the more effort you put in...

George Chapmam

" They're only truly great who are truly good."- George Chapman once said. This quote means that if you are a good person then your a great person as well. For example lets say that your the type of person to always help others out despite your differences. You would be like-able and also a amazing person as well. Now lets say that your a rude ungrateful person who doesn't care about anything but themselves. they are most likely the type of person to be discriminated against and also not so popular as well instead they will be just not cared for. This is my reflection on this statement and it is better to CTR than be rude and CTW.

George Mitchell

"many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn't. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don't do it."- George Mitchell once said. To me this quote has good meaning in the sense of cheating. Cheating is something that feels good for a reward but you then feel regret and bad for it later on. For example lets say that your going to take a test today and didn't study. Well most likely your going to fail and get a low score on it. You then ask your friend that always gets an A if you can copy his/hers answers so you won't fail. He agrees to that request and lets you copy. you might have gotten that A but later on you start to think about it and begin to feel bad because you where dishonest and cheated. Now lets say that you did the opposite. You still didn't study but you chose to take it honestly. You still get a bad score but you feel proud since you didn't need to ...

Dale Murphy

"I won't cheat"- Dale Murphy once said. This quote has a strong meaning in not cheating. When you cheat your not just only breaking the rules but you are also hurting yourself in a way as well. When you cheat you must likely use drugs and if you do you can get addicted to it or get caught and get in some major trouble. For example lets say that your part of the Olympics or sports team and are competing today. Before you go out to play or race you chose to take some drugs to try and improve your performance which is cheating because you are using a substance. You might win the game but now later on you've been caught and you where found cheating. They disqualify you most likely end up in jail. Now lets say that you did the opposite. Instead of cheating you decide to practice even more to improve your ability and that isn't cheating. You win the game and you feel good because all of your hard work did pay off and your proud of yourself. This is my reflection on this...

Victor Hugo

"Right is right only when entire."- Victor Hugo once said. This statement to me means that you can only be honest only when you go through something entirely truthful. For example lets say that you might have an exam and your taking it right now. You could of answered most of the questions off of your own knowledge and hats being truthful with yourself. But now you are on the last question and your not to sure on what the answer for it is. You then decide to cheat on the last question and copy off of the person that sits right next to you.You then became dishonest on the test because of the one question you copied and now you need to hope that you don't get caught by the teacher now. Now lets say that you do the opposite of this. you take the test and honest with all the questions but you don't know the last one. you take a guess on it from your own knowledge and hope that it is right but at least you where honest bout this  one and this test came out to be trut...

Rachel Castillo

" If you do what is right, if you live the right way, you'll be taken care of."- Rachel Castillo once said. Rachel shares these words of wisdom with us to express that dong good things and choosing the right are rewarding in the future and good for yourself as well. For example lets say that you find a wallet on the ground with $500 and identification as well as gift cards in it as well. You chose to take it in to the police department or try finding a number to return it to the owner. You somehow find out where the person is and rush to him/her to return the wallet at once and so you do. The person might be supersized or even overjoyed that you returned it and might give you a cash reward for it. Now lets say you did the opposite of this and didn't return it. you would most likely live with guilt and feel awful about it. The owner can cancel the credit cards and you won't be able to use them or you might be tracked as well. as you can see it is better to d...

Arnold H. Glasgow

"In life, as in football, you won't go far, unless you know where the goal posts are."- is what Arnold H. Glasgow once said. this statement to me means that you can't achieve or do much in life without making goals for yourself. For example lets say that you want to have A's in all your classes but you aren't determined. You would most likely might remember but you'll always forget that. It will come to a point that you won't care for it and just leave it as it is. Now lets say that you are determined to get A's. You would write down in a journal or just remind yourself everyday and minute that you want to get A's. You would have to make sacrifices but all that matters is that you accomplish your goals. In the long run you would most likely was able to accomplish this goal and then most likely feel proud of yourself for doing so. This is my reflection about this statement and to me it seems like it should be important to make goals for yourself...
